太祖伍胥山公位於蘇州胥口鎮之伍公祠于二零零六年十一月舉行揭幕儀式。太祖為歷史上一位顯赫的軍事家及政治家，深受蘇州人民及全世界伍氏族人尊崇。
奠基禮於二零零四年十月卅日在蘇州胥口鎮舉行，工程為時兩年，由中華人民共和國斥資五佰多萵美元興建，另各地及海外伍氏宗親合共捐助約十萵美元。
